This Unity & Liberty round blends icons from different coins and from American icons. The obverse side of the round has the image of Lady Liberty and she is kind of facing toward the viewer like the St. Gauden’s Lady Liberty. This version has her wielding a sword in one hand while she is carrying an American flag in the other hand. Above her head is ‘E Pluribus Unum’ the Latin phrase for ‘From many one’. This motto and the ‘In God We Trust’ to the left of the image, are found on a lot of United States currency.


The reverse side of the coin has a bundle of sticks known as a ‘fasces’ which was used on the reverse of the Mercury dime. This is a symbol of power and authority. Wrapped around the fasces is a rattlesnake. The rattlesnake is reminiscent of the flag proposed by Benjamin Franklin that was meant to rally the colonies in uniting to fight the British during the Revolutionary War. This has now come to be a symbol of unity today. Above the image is ‘TWO TROY OUNCES. Below the image is ‘999 FINE SILVER’.
